Waiting for something to happen...

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2008, 4:21 PM
Ok, winter has been very long, I'm sick of hibernating, and I'm waiting for something to happen so that I can take pictures.

This coming week-end, first Agility-trial of the season for Axelle and me.
The weather should be good, and I'm taking my Canon.

Silane is "retired early" from Agility, but has been learning a few cute tricks, I'll have to figure out how I can take pictures of her doing them.

Hey! Thanks for the comment! I wasn't sure if the "Parrot Fish" (aka rainbow fish) had been dyed or not, so that's good to know! ^.^

the blue came from the lights in a salt water aquarium. i spent the good bit of 30 min trying every possible exposure and aperture. I liked this the best :)

the 10 sec exposure was too light and the 6 sec was too dark.

and i was cold and tired of cleaning the misty rain drops off my lens haha.

thanks for the comment!

Ahyes. That's a good way to do it.
I usually use the flash, and shoot at an angle to the glass, so there is a reflection, but at least it's not on the fish.
;-)

Thank you. I think part of the reason there isnt any glare from the glass is because I turned the flash off, but I have found with my current camera that if I put it as close to the glass as possible I dont seem to have any problems with glare or reflections.

It's a great shot, and so unusual.

How is it there's no glare on the glass tank ?

Ahyes...thanks for the link.
True, the Canon lens is more expensive.
Mine also is f4-5,6 and that's the problem, it needs plenty of light.

I'm dreaming of a 70-200mm. f2,8...
But that's not my budget.

Thanks for the Comment!
I would have liked the beak to be in focus also but I didn't have much time to think about it. I couldn't believe it held still that long!

That was my Sigma 70-300 with macro lens. (Canon is too expensive)

Thanks again
